Directions to UC Santa Cruz
The UCSC campus occupies 2,000 acres
on the west side of the city of Santa Cruz, on Monterey Bay, about 75
miles south of San Francisco and 35 miles southwest of San Jose. Expansive
meadows at the campus entrance gradually slope up to a redwood forest
that covers most of the site. The city of Santa Cruz is a well-known recreational
area and center for the arts. Mild weather, miles of beaches, and many
cultural opportunities combine to make Santa Cruz an enjoyable place to
study and live.
FROM THE NORTH
From the Bay Area take US 280 or CA 101 to US 880 to CA Hwy 17 south.
Take Hwy 17 south to Santa Cruz, take the Highway 1 North (Mission St.)
to Bay Street. Turn right on Bay which will take you to the base of campus
(Bay & High).
FROM THE SOUTH
If on the Coast take Highway 1 North or South (turns into Mission St.
through Santa Cruz) to Bay Street and turn left (from Hwy 1 South) or
right (from Hwy 1 North) and follow to the base of campus (Bay & High).
To get to the Athletics Department Offices (second floor
of OPERS building) and East Athletic Facilities (Soccer
Field, Pool, Tennis Courts, Wellness Center) go through the main campus
entrance located at Bay & High. Turn left onto Hagar Drive (second
signal). The Soccer Field is located next to the East Remote Parking Lot.
Offices, Pool, Tennis Courts, and Wellness Center are located near the
East Field House.
To get to West Athletic Facilities
(West Field House Gym - Basketball & Volleyball, West Tennis Courts,
and Men's and Women's Basketball Offices) follow signs to the West Campus
Entrance. Take Empire Grade and turn right at Heller Dr. to the West Entrance.
West Athletic Facilities are located in College Eight.
