Primrose Pisares joined the UCSC athletic training staff in 2005 as an assistant athletic trainer. She began her career in athletic training as an intern at Hartnell College after graduating in 1997 from the University of California at Santa Barbara where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physiology. As an intern she worked with many skill levels of competition which ranged from youth sports to semi-pro soccer. After becoming certified in 2001 she attended the Arizona School of Health Sciences and graduated with a Master’s degree in Sports Health Care in 2003. While there, she completed various clinical rotations that included rehabilitation clinics, orthopedic physician’s offices, as well as collegiate and high school settings.

Upon return to California, Primrose worked at various community colleges in the area until joining UCSC but continues to work at Gavilan College during the football season. She is a member of the NATA and a qualified examiner for the NATABOC. In addition, she is an Approved Clinical Instructor for San Jose State University.

Primrose grew up on the Central Coast and enjoys performing Polynesian style dance and playing volleyball as well as various other hobbies and outdoor activities.

Candice DavisCandice Davis
Graduate Assistant
Phone: (831) 459-4793
camdavis@ucsc.edu

Candice, originally from Illinois, has been in California for 11 years and joined the UCSC Athletic Training Staff as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer in August of 2007. In May of the same year, she graduated from San Jose State University with a B.S. in Kinesiology with an athletic training concentration. She is currently in the Athletic Training Graduate Program at SJSU where she plans on getting her Master’s degree and taking some sport psychology classes as well. Candice has done internships at various facilities such as universities, colleges, high schools, and physical therapy clinics.

Since Candice was an athlete herself competing in basketball and track and field, she enjoys watching sports, learning about injuries, and finding the best way to get someone back out on the court, field, pool, etc. When not at work, she likes to go out with friends and family, watch movies, and cook. “I do this job to help athletes not for extrinsic rewards, which are seldom given in this profession.”
