April 27, 2008 SAAC Return to the Shores for another Successful Beach Clean Up
It was a warm sunny day as the UCSC Student Athletic Advisory Committee picked up trash and recyclables at the main beach of Santa Cruz! A total of about 200 volunteers from the community showed up. UCSC had 32 student-athletes present and helped contribute to a collection of 212 lbs of trash, 127 lbs of recylcing and over 4000 cigarette butts! A breakdown of the teams represented are: W Basketball (9), W Swim (7), M Waterpolo (5), M Soccer (4), W Cross Country (3), M Swim - 3, W Soccer (1).
