UC Santa Cruz’s women’s soccer team plays a very challenging schedule against the strongest DIII teams in the region and year after year, nearly half the schedule is against DII competition. In 2015, UC Santa Cruz was a member of the Great South Athletic Conference and won the conference title, giving them a berth to the NCAA National Championships. Since then, the Slugs haven’t slowed down, reaching the NCAA tournament three years in a row. Since its inception in 1987 the team has reached the NCAA tournament 11 times.
