This is Adam's fifth season as Head Coach of the Women's Cross Country team. He took over the position from former Head Coach Rachel Cook midway through the '03 season. A San Jose native, Boothe graduated from Pioneer High in 1997. While at Pioneer, Boothe was a CCS Div IV Champion and two-time XC State Championships qualifier. From there, he went on to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he ran Cross Country and track for five years. Boothe was back-to-back Big West Champion and Athlete of the Year in Cross Country, and in 1999, qualified for the NCAA Division I XC Championships.

Since taking over at UCSC, Boothe has coached two All-West Region runners, including 2006 Top 10 Finisher and Nationals Qualifier Tamara Torlakson.

Boothe graduated from Cal Poly SLO in 2002 with a degree in Political Science and moved to Santa Cruz to pursue a career in coaching. In April of 2007 Adam opened a running specialty store, Central Coast Running, in Santa Cruz. It is fast becoming the headquarters for running on the Central Coast.
