Slugs Battle Leopards in Final Home Game of the Season

SANTA CRUZ, CA -- Come out and enjoy an exciting NCAA Men's Basketball game as the Slugs play their last home game of the season.  The Slugs will play their final game at the Kaiser Permanente Arena, home of the NBA D-league Santa Cruz Warriors.

UCSC will take on the La Verne Leopards at 2pm this Saturday February 1st.  This will be the first time UCSC has taken on La Verne this season. 

This game will be the final home game for lone senior, Spencer Wells (Guard- Los Altos, CA). "Spencer's actions have meant so much to our program this season.  As a senior captain he has been a real rock and leader for our team.  It's been a tremendous pleasure to coach him and see his development.  As he graduates from UCSC this spring he certainly has a bright future ahead of him," said Ron DuBois, Head Men's Basketball Coach. Spencer will graduate with a degree in Environmental Studies. 

With this being the last home game for the Men's Basketball team, UCSC and the Santa Cruz Warriors are offering a Special Student Discount* to current UCSC students: 

The first 100 UCSC students with a valid UCSC ID will get in FREE

The 2nd 100 UCSC students with a valid UCSC ID will get in for $2

The 3rd 100 UCSC students with a valid UCSC ID will get in for $3

Game day at the Kaiser Permanete area will provide fans with an affordable, family friendly entertainment.  Activities include a half time show, free giveaways, the UCSC Band, the UCSC Cheer & Dance team and Sammy the Slug Mascot!  

The Slugs will turn around and hit the road to play Occidental on Sunday February 2nd at 7PM  at the  Occidental Tigers home court.
