UC Santa Cruz announced its 2018-19 basketball schedule that features nine home games and eighteen games overall against Division III opposition.
The Banana Slugs open on November 10 at Kaiser Permanente Arena against Redlands.
The next weekend, UCSC welcomes Chapman, Cal Lutheran, Linfield and Pacific for the Slugs Tipoff Classic. The Banana Slugs face Cal Lutheran to kick things off November 16th at the West Field House.
The following weekend, UCSC hosts their Thanksgiving Classic where they face La Verne on November 24th and then either Colby College of Maine or Dominican of Illinois the next day in the knock-out style tournament.
After the two tournaments, UC Santa Cruz is on the road for all of December, beginning with a trip to Colorado to take on Colorado College and new Division III opponent Johnson and Wales. It's UCSC's first trip to Colorado Springs since 2006.
The Banana Slugs then visit Southern California on back-to-back weekends before visiting Oregon for three games the week before Christmas.
After the long December, the Banana Slugs come home for three home games in January against University of Los Angeles College of Divinity, Cal Miramar, and Bethesda University.
UCSC then finishes the year with five of their last six games on the road, including a trip to Division I Cal State Bakersfield for an exhibition Tuesday January 29th. The lone home game will be Senior Night February 4th against Pacific Union.
UCSC is coming off a school-record 17-8 season in 2017-18.
