Cien-Meyer named AD3I Rookie of the Year

OVERLAND PARK, KS - Mathias Cien-Meyer was named Association of Division Three Independents Rookie of the Year in a vote by the Association's coaches.

Cien-Meyer, a defender from Chula Vista, played in all 19 games for the Banana Slugs, with 14 straight starts at right back. He had a goal and an assist in his first season with UCSC.

Three UCSC players were named to the Association's First Team: Landen Gozashti started every game on defense, midfielder Aidan Durgerian led the team in assists, and James Allison was second in shots and scored the game-winning goal against Division II Academy of Art.

Five Banana Slugs made the AD3I Second team: Cien-Meyer, goalkeeper Andrew Pimentel, midfielder Lukas Holocher, and forwards Jacob Myers Norys and Dominique Royall.
