FRESNO (11-14) – UC Santa Cruz took part in their first tri-meet of the season as they took on NCAA Division I member Fresno State University and NCAA Division II member Fresno Pacific University.
The men's team had participants finish in the top five in all sixteen events in the dual meet. Individually, Cameron Braun, who won the 500 yard freestyle, had the best finish for the Banana Slugs.
The women's team had participants finish in the top five in nine of the sixteen events that took place. Individually, Amanda Gritsfeld had the best finish for the Banana Slugs as she finished fourth in the one and meter diving competitions.
In the men's competition, Fresno Pacific won 187-104. In the women's competition, Fresno Pacific defeated UC Santa Cruz 188-93 and Fresno State defeated the Banana Slugs 249-49.
The Banana Slugs will now wait for almost a month for their next trip into the pool. The next meet for the Banana Slugs will be December 5th as they take part in a dual meet against NCAA Division II member Azusa Pacific and Cal Lutheran.
