SANTA CRUZ (11-25) - UC Santa Cruz played their third game in a row at home as they took on Willamette University at Kaiser Permanente Arena. The Bearcats won a tight back and forth game 56-52 in overtime.
The game was a back-and-forth contest with the game featuring eleven lead changes and five ties. The Bearcats tied the game at 50-50 on a Kylie Towry layup. The Banana Slugs had opportunities to take the lead on layups by Catina and Tom but both shots were missed at the end of regulation. The Bearcats would take the lead in the extra frame on a Drew Farmer free throw to start a 5-0 run, and never relinquished the lead again.
The Banana Slugs will finish up their four-game homestand tomorrow as they take on NAIA member California Maritime Academy at 5 pm at Kaiser Permanente Arena.
