Kim Tom wins AD3I Player of Week honors

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Senior guard Kim Tom has been selected the Association of Division III Independents women's basketball Player of the Week.

Tom produced 16.3 points and 2.3 assists per game in four games over the last two weeks for the Banana Slugs, including 73% on free-throws.

She earned d3hoops.com Classic All-Tournament Team honors, capping off 2017 with a career high 24 points on 8-17 shooting and 6-6 free-throws in a 71-51 win over Hamline in Las Vegas. That win snapped UC Santa Cruz's seven-game losing streak.

She is just one free-throw short of qualifying for NCAA rankings, otherwise she would be 33rd in the country at 87.9% from the line.

She averaged 13.7 points per game in three games against 2017 NCAA Tournament teams.
