HOUSTON, Texas - The UCSC Women's Golf team finished 12th place at the 13-team DIII National Spring Preview. The event was held at the Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, TX. The par 72, 5871-yard course will be the site for the NCAA Division III Championships held May 10-13.
The Slugs finished with a team score of 734 (356-378) as the winning team was Texas-Tyler at 616 (304-312), followed by New York University at 639 (321-318) and Wittenberg in third at 641 (330-311).
UCSC seniors Portia Kenney and Angela McElroy were the team's low scorers, tying for 51st with a two-day total of 176. Fellow senior Ravipa Losakul had the low single round score for the Slugs with a 84 on the first day. Junior Victoria Lee finished T69 with a 201 total. Sophomore teammate Tiffany Guzman finished 71st shooting a 205.
The Slugs now will have a week off before traveling back to Glen Rose, TX to play in the American Southwest Conference (ASC) Championship. The event will be held at the Squaw Valley Golf Course April 18-19.
