UC Santa Cruz Competes at Kim Duyst Invitational

TURLOCK, CA -- UC Santa Cruz went to Turlock for their first track and field competition of the 2015 season as they participated in the Kim Duyst Invitational. The event was hosted by CSU Stanislaus and took place at Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium. The Banana Slugs' competition featured schools from NCAA Divisions I and II and junior colleges from around Northern California. 

In the women's competition,  the 800 meter run, Jamie West finished 31st with a time of 2:31.48, Autumn Burton finished in 36th with a time of 2:35.69, Lizzie Meredith finished 38th with a 2:37.10 time and Shelby Dunn finished 39th with a time of 2:39.34. In the 1500 meter run, Burton finished 28th with a time of 5:12.02. In the long jump competition, Cruz finished in 23rd place with an 11-11.00 jump.  

The Banana Slugs' next competition is on March 21st as they take part in the Johnny Mathis Invitational in San Francisco.
