UC Santa Cruz Captures Best Individual Finishes of Season at CSU East Bay Legacy Invitational

 HAYWARD, CA -- UC Santa Cruz went to Hayward to take part in the CSU East Bay Legacy Invitational. The event took place at Chabot College and was hosted by CSU East Bay. The Slugs' competition included one NCAA Division I school, five NCAA Division II schools, one NAIA school and several junior college and running clubs. 

In the women's competition, in the 800 meter run, Lizzie Meredith finished in eighth place with a time of 2:26.46. Autumn Burton finished in ninth with a time of 2:26.69 and Evelyn Muros finished fourteenth with a 2:30.05 time. In the 1,500 meter run, Catlin Devlin finished seventh with a time of 4:53.72 and Meredith finished with a time of 4:50.08 which was good enough for eighth place. 

In the men's competition, Takehiro Yamaya finished ninth with a time of 1:59.35 in the 800 meter run. Theron Carmichael finished thirteenth in the event with a time of 2:04.43. In the 1,500 meter run, Theron Carmichael finished eleventh with a time of 4:10.59

The Banana Slugs' next event is on May 1st-2nd as they take part in the Steve Scott Invitational in Irvine.
