Women's Volleyball losses at Notre Dame; now 8-3 in Cal Pac

The Women's Volleyball team lost to Notre Dame de Namur University in three straight games on Saturday, 30-14, 30-20, 30-20, dropping their record to 11-11 and 8-3 in the Cal Pac. defeated Holy Names College in 3 straight games Friday night at the West Field.

Yi Wang of Notre Dame would lead the Argonauts with 21 kills, 6 blocks and 3 service aces. UCSC Senior Leigh O'Neill would lead the Slugs with 9 kills.

The team also lost Friday at home to CSU Hayward, 3-1 (21-30, 30-28, 30-19, 30-19). After taking the first match from Hayward, one of the top teams in the country, a controversial call in the second game would send the Slugs into a tailspin. The call was disputed when the referee overuled a line judge and awarded a crucial point to the visiting Pioneers.

The team plays next this Friday at home against Mills College. Game time is 7:30 pm.
