Women's Volleyball takes Pacific Union 3-1, winning streak at four

SANTA CRUZ -- The Women's Volleyball team defeated the Pioneers of Pacific Union, 30-23, 27-30, 30-23 and 30-17 Sunday night at the West Field House.

The win is the fourth consecutive for UCSC, which is looking to repeat last year's run into the Cal Pac Conference Playoffs.

Sophomore Outside Hitter Amy Strang lead UCSC with a career high 19 kills and five block assists. Junior Middle Blocker Tristan Menz had 2 solo blocks and 6 block assists. Senior Lilly Hallock continued her great play at the setter position, accumulating 46 assists.

The team has a 8-3 conference record and a 12-9 record overall. They have five matches remaining, four of those against Cal Pac opponents. Their next match comes in a non-conference match against CSU Hayward, Thursday night at the West Field House. The match will be critical in assesing the team's chances of qualifying for the NCAA playoffs.
