    Slugs Continue to Play Strong on the Road The UC Santa Cruz Women’s Volleyball team lost a tough, five game match to NCAA Division II, CSU Monterey Bay on Tuesday, September 16th. The Slugs took the first two games 25-18, 25-22 only to drop the next two games 12-25, 21-25. The fifth game was extremely close and exciting going into extra points but coming up short 18-20. Leading for the Slugs was Senior Outside Hitter Megan Wisniewski with 13 kills, 4 digs and 3 blocks.

    Pacific Lutheran Solid Hitting Was Too Much For The Slugs FOREST GROVE - Pacific Lutheran rebounded from a shocking first set loss to take out UC Santa Cruz in four sets. The Banana Slugs scored 14 kills in the opener, while the Lutes hit -.054, committing six errors against four kills. The Lutes came back with a vengeance in the second set, smashing 15 kills against just one error.

    Slugs Finish Weekend In Oregon 2-2, Defeating Pacific 3-1 FOREST GROVE ­ Pacific edged out a close first set, but could not come out on top of the final three stanzas as UC Santa Cruz took the match from the Boxers, 25-27, 25-22, 27-25, 25-20, in the Boxer Kickoff Volleyball Invitational Sunday at the Pacific Athletic Center.

    Slugs Drop Their Season Opener To Puget Sound FOREST GROVE - The No. 7 ranked Loggers opened the tournament with a three-set victory over the Banana Slugs. UPS dominated the first set, posting a .385 attack percentage before settling down to .184 in game two and .171 in game three. UC Santa Cruz kept things close in the second and third sets.
