Men's and Women's XC Earn All-Academic Honors

Everything seemed to be working for UCSC cross country this year.  Both teams racked up the Association of Division III Independents awards including Caitlin Devlin receiving Runner of the Year and Head Coach Jamey Harris selected as Coach of the Year.  The women's team showed their dominance at the NCAA Regionals with their second best showing in program history.

And the awards keep piling up. On Friday, both the Men's and Women's teams earned All-Academic honors by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

In order for a team to earn All-Academic honors, it must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 or better.  The UCSC men's and women's teams had respective GPAs of 3.61 and  with a 3.61 and the women 3.22.

Overall there were 207 women's teams that finished the semester with GPAs of 3.1 or better.  For the men, there were 151 teams with GPAs of 3.1 or higher.  Only Ithaca College (3.697) and Pricipia College (3.67) finished higher than UCSC.
