Cross Country runs at UC Davis Doc Adams Invite

DAVIS - A small contingent of Banana Slugs competed Saturday at the Doc Adams Open hosted by UC Davis.

Braving a muddy course, UCSC men were fourth out of the five teams competing.

Solomon Reinman ran the best time for UCSC, finishing 19th of the 37 runners who completed the 8K race. He finished in 26:43.8.

Dante De Los Santos (26:53.0) was 22nd, Zahid Anjum (27:35.3) was 25th and Harmen Kang (27:47.7) was 27th.

Mateo Ramirez (28:22.2), Ralph Balaoing (29:06.8), and Jonathan Trinh (29:25.3) rounded out the UCSC participants, finishing 31st, 33rd and 35th respectively.

Four Banana Slug runners were among the 25 who started and finished the 6K women's race, with Chico State providing ten runners and grabbing the first six places.

Erin Carvalho led UCSC with a 15th place finish in 26:05.1, followed by Casey Chien in 26:29 and Taylor Barkdoll in 26:32.1. Nicole O'Connor ran a 28:30.9 

The full Cross Country squads are in action next week when they compete at the NCAA West Regionals in Claremont.
