Slugs on a Roll

The UC Santa Cruz men's basketball team is officially on a win streak. The Slugs won their second consecutive game, beating visiting Colorado College 61-58 Tuesday in first-round action of the Slug Jam Classic at the East Field House.

Jimmy Herrera scored 17 to lead UCSC 4-11 overall, and Charlie Peck hit two clutch free throws with three seconds left to ice the win.

Michael Hicks scored seven points and led the Slugs with five rebounds. UCSC was able to capitalize on 20 turnovers from Colorado College 3-12.

UCSC plays St. Joseph's College of Maine tonight at 7 p.m.
