Matsuoka Earns Association of Division III Independents Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Award
KANSAS CITY, MO -- University of California-Santa Cruz sophomore guard Ryan Matsuoka (Cupertino, Calif.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week. Matsuoka averaged 16 points and four rebounds per game while shooting 19-of-37 (.514) from the floor and 6-of-11 (.545) from beyond the three-point arc. The Slugs finished the week 2-1 overall and 2-0 against Div. III opponents.
The Slugs are now 2-5 on the season and Matsuoka leads the team in scoring with 18 points per game.
