UC Santa Cruz SLugs Land Another Solid Recruit
SANTA CRUZ, CA -- The UCSC Slugs were able to land another solid recruit, Nick Hipwell of Palo Verde HS, Nevada.
Nick averaged 6 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks per game and was the starting power forward on a (21-4 State Finalist Team) for the past two years. At 6’6” a solid passer and a nose for the ball, Nick will bring some needed size to the Slugs.
Head Coach Gordon Johnson really likes Nick’s size and aggressiveness. “I really like the fact that Nick is left handed and can elevate. He passes well from the high post and really runs the lanes well.” “I also like his length on defense; he’s really going to help strengthen our front line.”
Along with a solid returning class and some of the other recruits the Slugs have brought in, they are solidifying themselves for this coming year and the future.
