Slugs Land Solid JC Point Guard
SANTA
CRUZ, CA -- In their quest to make a run at becoming one of the top basketball teams in the Western United States, the UCSC Men’s team has locked in its fourth major signee of the year.
UCSC Men’s Basketball Team is announcing the verbal commitment from Darrin Lew, Junior, East Los Angeles Junior College.
Darrin a 5’10”, 155lbs, Point Guard will help bolster an already solid backcourt. Darrin is considered one of the top JC points in the state; (16ptg, 5apg and 83% freethrow shooter), All Conference SCC-North and Honorable Mention Top 100 Players in California.
“Darrin is really going to add some depth to a senior laden backcourt. Darrin’s speed, defense and ability to get others involved are some things the team was missing the last couple of years.” “We were in a real tough battle with Waldorf University (IA), Menlo, and Vanguard to get Darrin. This is going to be great for our program and the school,” stated Coach Johnson.
