HIGH SCHOOL: AIn Kevin’s junior year, Santa Cruz highs basketball team was 36-1. Were Santa Cruz Coast League Champions, CIF Central Coast Section Champion, Northern California Champions and California State Champions. As a senior, Kevin helped lead the team to another league championship and the CIF Semi Finals. Scored a season high of 14 points against University High of Irvine and Riordan of San Francisco and dished out 8 assists against Carmel. Was among the league leaders in assists and steals. Coached by Charles Burks.

Community College: A two year starter at Cabrillo College in 2007-8 and 2008-9, Helped lead the 2007-8 teams to its first ever outright Coast Conference South title. The team ended up being ranked #7 in NorCal and #14 in the state. Was coached by Tony Marcopulos at Cabrillo.
2009-2010: Played in 25 games as a Junior and started 2. His top game was against Whitworth where he was 3 for 3 from 3-point land and scored 11 points. He also had 4 assists in the first Whitworth game in 2009 and handed out 4 assists in the Claremont-Mudd game.

2010-2011: Sat out due to an injury.

PERSONAL: Kevin was born in Santa Cruz, California. Kevin’s parents, Joe Konopelski and Nancy Cox-Konopelski are both long time UCSC Faculty members. Has three siblings, Kristin, Charis and Paul. Kristin and Charis are UCSC grads.
