Slug Women's Basketball Makes National Statistics Rankings

Number 20, Kayleigh Calandri
SHOOTING 81%: Kayleigh Calandri (#20) top Slug scorer from behind the line.

SANTA CRUZ, CA -- The UC Santa Cruz Women's Basketball team is making its mark in the NCAA National Statistics Rankings. In 17 games played this year, the Slugs have moved into the team rankings (Top 100) for their Free Throw and 3pt. percentages.
Number 33, Jenna Chabot
MOVING UP: Jenna Chabot ranks #24 in NCAA statistics.

As a team the Slugs are shooting 69% from the charity stripe, which puts them at 90th in the Nation among 300+ NCAA Division III institutions. Freshman Kayleigh Calandri is leading the way for the Slugs shooting 81% from behind the line, connecting on 52 of 64 attempts.

From beyond the arc the Slugs are ranked No. 88 in the Nation, shooting 33% as a team. Their success from 3pt land is due in large part to Senior Jenna Chabot. This week Jenna made a jump in the national rankings for her 3pt. percentage, moving up to No. 24 with her 43.7 shooting percentage. Averaging 2.2 3-pointers a game, Jenna made her way onto the average 3pt. field goals list this week, coming in at 72nd in the nation.
