UCSC Women's Basketball Mounts Successful Comeback

The UC-Santa Cruz Banana Slugs outscored the Colorado College Tigers by 8 points in the second half to erase a 5-point halftime deficit to pull out the 61-58 victory. The victory comes on the heels of last night's comeback win where the Banana Slugs, in similar fashion, overtook the University of Dallas Crusaders early in the second half for the 4 point victory. The 2 wins puts UC-Santa Cruz at 8-14.

Megan Gaynor led the victors with 28 points on 12-20 shooting from the field. Gaynor added 8 rebounds. Teammates Melissa Junge and Talia Joyce joined Gaynor in double figures with 10 and 12 points respectively. Junge hauled down 9 rebounds to lead the Banana Slugs in that category, while Joyce had 5 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block in 40 minutes of action.

Melanie Auguste led the Colorado College Tigers with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Paige Whitney and Liz Schnaitter added 10 points.
