UCSC Women's Basketball 2006-07 Season Wrap-up

The Slugs finished this season with a 10-15 regular season record (10-17 overall), reaching the double digit win mark for the first time in four seasons. The team hit a rough patch in December where they played seven games in row on the road, dropping all seven. But the team rallied together after the New Year, finishing the last half of season 7-4, including a buzzer beater loss to #10 ranked Menlo College on February 10th. (more)

It Was A Happy Valentine's Day for the Lady Slugs

The UCSC Women's Basketball team celebrated a great Valentine's Day as they defeated CSU East Bay 64-59. Not only was it Valentine's Day, but it was also the three seniors last home game at the West Field House. The Slugs celebrated and thanked Megan Gaynor, Rachel Ocampo, and Perbey Pandac for all their hard work and dedication to the UCSC Women's Basketball program. (more)

Slugs Suffer a Heartbreaking Loss at Menlo

Menlo's Stephanie Kiers last second bucket lifted No. 10 Menlo College to a 48-45 non-conference victory over UC Santa Cruz as the Lady Oaks improve to 21-2 overall. The Slugs fall to 9-15 for the season. (more)

Slug Women's Basketball Continues Rollin'

The UC Santa Cruz Women's Basketball team came away with their fifth victory in a row last night at Dominican University in San Rafael. After finding themselves down 12 at the half and by as many as 15 in the second half, the Slugs rallied back, finishing on top with a 57-53 victory. With this win, the Slugs are now 9-14 overall for the season. (more)

UCSC Women's Basketball Mounts Successful Comeback

The UC-Santa Cruz Banana Slugs outscored the Colorado College Tigers by 8 points in the second half to erase a 5-point halftime deficit to pull out the 61-58 victory. The victory comes on the heels of last night's comeback win where the Banana Slugs, in similar fashion, overtook the University of Dallas Crusaders early in the second half for the 4 point victory. The 2 wins puts UC-Santa Cruz at 8-14. (more)

Women's Basketball Pulls of 3rd Win in a Row in Dallas

The UC-Santa Cruz Banana Slugs held off a late charge by the University of
Dallas Crusaders to prevail 63-57. The victory ups the Banana Slugs record
to 7-14

Slugs Team Attack Too Much for Warriors

Saturday, January 27, 2007 found the Team in high spirits with a well-deserved victory at home during the week and the hope of making it into a two game win streak.  The long trip into the Sacramento Valley played out favorably as the Slugs defeated the William Jessup Warriors, 53- 47. (more)

Slugs Can't Find Their Stride

The middle of January found the Slugs with a break from their hectic winter schedule. The Slugs first game was against the perennial rival in Notre Dame De Namur Argonauts. The game was highly anticipated for the team as NDNU was a previous win and the resounding support of Alumni, in town for their Sunday match up, was a much needed moral booster for the Slugs.
