November 23, 2007 Sarah Adamson's Career High Helps Bring The Slugs to 3-1 on the Season
Solid shooting helps bring the UCSC Women's Basketball team to 3-1 as they defeated Pomona-Pitzer for the second time this season. The Slugs were lead by senior center Sarah Adamson who finished the night with 19 points and 9 rebounds, setting an individual game high record. Adamson shot 64% from the field, finishing the night 9-14. Following Adamson was sophomore forward Molly Davisson who finished with 16 points, going 4-4 from the 3-point line and finishing the game 6-8 from the field at 75%. The Slugs balanced out the scoring with point guard Talia Joyce, junior forward Melissa Junge, and freshman guard Mikael Medeiros all finishing the night with 9 points.
Overall as a team, the Slugs finished the game shooting 47% from the field and 50% from the 3-point line. Their defense was also key in their victory as they held Pomona-Pitzer to just 60 points. Tomorrow night the Slugs will finish their Thanksgiving weekend playing Claremont Mudd Scripps at 5pm where they hope to come away with their third victory in a row. |
