Todd Kent will be entering his first season with the UC Santa Cruz women's basketball
team.
Todd is entering UCSC from Seattle University where he spent two seasons as an assistant coach. Prior to Seattle Todd was at La Salle High School in Yakima, Wash. where he was the Dean of Students, a teacher, and the head girls basketball coach. In five seasons he compiled a record of 106-23. He led his team to a class B State Championship in 2006 and was named Seattle Times Washington State B Girls Coach of the Year. He was awarded the same honor in 2007 as well when he led his team to a state runner-up finish. Todd was also the coach of the Eastern Washington All-State Girls Team in the summers of 2006 and 2007. He has also made coaching stops at Highland HS, Rosalia HS, Lind HS, and South Puget Sounds Community College.
Todd is a graduate of Eastern Washington University where he earned his degree in Recreation and Leisure Service Management. He received his master's degree in teaching from Heritage University in 2003. Kent enjoys hiking with his family and mountain biking the many wonderful trails in the Santa Cruz area, with his wife Stephanie, who is a ER Nurse. The Kents welcomed Frances Carolyn Kent to the family on September 2, 2008. They also have two dogs, Hobbs and Daisy.

Coach Perry joins the Slugs staff for her first season. Perry earned her Bachelors in Pyschology at Notre Dame de Namur where she played point guard for two seasons and led the team in assists her junior year. Prior to Notre Dame de Namur Coach Perry spent her Freshman and Sophomores years at Ventura college. During her time at Ventura she was a team captain and was a key contributor as the program continued their reign as league champs over the course of 17 seasons. Coach Perry preped at Palmdale High School where she was the league MVP her senior year, 2005, and was all conference three out of the four seasons she played.
Coach Perry responsibilities include working with the guards, recruiting, and film exchange. The Slugs are excited to have Coach Perry apart of the program.
