Women's Golf Currently 16th After First Day at Nationals

The UCSC women’s golf team is in 16th place after the first day of the NCAA DIII National Championships.  The tournament is being played at the par 73, 5,825 yard El Campeon Golf Course in Howey-in-the-hills, Florida.  The banana slugs had a team score of 373, with Stephanie Bishop leading the team with an 85.  The remaining counting scores for the team were Meghan Bishop (92), Jessie Lewis (98), and Megan Gochoco (98).  Methodist College is leading the tournament with a team score of 308 and also has the top individual score of 74 by Charlotte Williams.  The tournament has a 20 team field, UCSC was ranked 17th coming in to the tournament and hopes to improve their position during the next 3 days of competition.
