UCSC Women’s Golf Fall Season Summary September 14th-October 9th
SANTA CRUZ, CA-- The Lady Slugs were welcomed into Seguin, Texas for the Lady Bulldog Classic by a series of lighting storms that charged up the mighty slugs to shock the field with poise and skill. Sutton Eagles at Jack Leaman Tournament
SANTA CRUZ, CA-- Halley Sutton makes an eagle on #18 at Hickory Ridge first day in the Jack Leaman Womens Intercollegate.
The Leaman is the oldest womens college tournament in the United States. With a good showing in this competition the Slugs have a great chance to make it to Nationals. Jessica Lewis was low today with an 85 |

Slugs Come Out on Top as Champions of the UCSC Invitational
SANTA
CRUZ, CA -- Freshman Julia Williams shot a final round 83 at Pasatiempo Golf Course leading the Slugs to a win at the UCSC Spring Invitational. Julia is one of the top five freshmen in the country. Teams fromTexas to the Pacific Northwest participated in the event. With the fourth win under our belt the bid for the Nationals is looking good. |

Women's Golf Rounds Out Top 5 in Texas
TEMPLE,
TX -- The
USCS Women's golf team finished 5th in the Mary Hardin Baylor Lady Crusader
Invitational. The event hosted 19 teams, and of the teams in the West
region the Slugs finished second to Southwestern University. Freshman
Julia Williams was the medalist for the Slugs carding an 84 and a 83.
On the second day of play Jessica Lewis fired an 81 helping the Slugs
move past Pacific who was ahead by nine shots after the first round.
The Slugs will be on break now until season resumes in late January. (more) |

Slugs Visit with LPGA Hall of Famer Juli Inkster
SANTA CRUZ, CA -- Members of the UCSC Women's
golf team got a chance to meet with one of the greatest players on the
LPGA tour, Juli Inkster. Inkster is a native of Santa Cruz, and attended
San Jose State where she was a three-time All-American. Named the LPGA's
Rookie of the Year in 1983, Inkster has over 25 years of professional
experience and over 30 professional wins under her belt. Recently members
of Slug Golf team were fortunate enough to get some tips from the Hall
of Famer at a local golf event. (more) |

Slug Golfers Pick Up Second Win on the Season
McMINNVILLE, OR -- The UC Santa Cruz
women's golf team picked up their second team win on the season at the
Linfield Invitational this weekend. Hosted at the Michelbook Country
Club, the Slugs were just three shots behind Linfield College after
the conclusion of the first day. Senior Jessica Lewis shot a 37 on the
back nine to keep the Slugs within striking distance. During the second
round the Slugs came from behind to win by 16 shots. (more) |
