October 31, 2005 KANSAS CITY, MO --University of California-Santa Cruz senior forward Bryan Baird (San Anselmo, Calif.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents men's soccer Player of the Week. In three games this week, Baird netted two goals, bringing his season total to 19. Baird scored the first goal of the game against Buena Vista University (4-0), making it his sixth game-winner. He was held scoreless in a 1-0 win over Nebraska Wesleyan University, but scored a goal in a senior day win over St. Mary's (9-0). Before the battle with NWU, Baird had scored a goal in 10 consecutive games. For the season, Baird has 42 total points and 4 assists, along with his 19 goals. |
