Two Former Slugs Heading to Beach Soccer World Cup

Two former UCSC Men's Soccer players are heading to the 2006 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup after helping the US Men's National Team finish in first place at the 2006 CONCACAF World Cup qualifying tournament in Costa Rica.  Austin Roman (class of 2002) and Brendon Taguinod (class of 2001) both featured for the US team in Costa Rica as the National Team went 3-1 to win their group and secure a place in the 2006 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in November.

Roman and Taguinod will travel to Brazil for the 16 team tournament and face off against Brazil, Japan, and Poland in group play.  You can check out the results at www.ussoccer.com
