UCSC Men's Soccer Upsets No. 2 Trinity in Second Round of Playoffs

San Antonio - Trinity's men's soccer team was upset 4-0 by UC-Santa Cruz on Sunday afternoon in the NCAA Second Round Playoffs. Trinity (19-1-1) ends its season after being shut out for just the third time in the past five seasons - two of which have come in the playoffs.

Steven Wondolowski scored two first half goals to put the Banana Slugs in charge of the match - both of which came in the opening 18 minutes of play. Harry Abraham, who assisted on the second goal of the game, put UCSC ahead 3-0 on a free kick from just outside the box, then Trinity scored an own goal in the 65th minute - less than two minutes after the Abraham score - to make it 4-0. Trinity's David Steinberg recorded five saves in the game, while Jared Wheeler had four stops for UCSC. The Slugs defense also came up with a team save to keep the Tigers scoreless.
