The coaching staff for the camp will include Chamberlain and assistants Jacob Long and David Frank.  Chamberlain, in his third year as head coach at UCSC has recorded an impressive 36-7 record at the helm for the Slugs and has continued the tradition of excellence he helped create as a player and former team captain at UC Santa Cruz.  In his first year as head coach, the Slugs lead the nation in every defensive category on their way to an appearance in the NCAA Tournament round of 16.  Chamberlain played a large role in the development of the Slugs' record five NSCAA All-Region players in 2007, and in the development of Adam Smarte, the 1st Overall Pick in the 2008 MLS Supplemental Draft.

Long and Frank, both former players at UC Santa Cruz have returned to the program as assistant coaches.  Long, in his second stint as an assistant, is a former team captain (2000) and standout for the Slugs.  Frank rejoins the Slugs after captaining the side in 2006 and several stints with the Houston Dynamo of MLS.

Players who attend the UC Santa Cruz Nike Elite Camp will be treated to one of the most beautiful college campuses in the world!  Located just 35 miles south of San Jose, Santa Cruz is a world-class tourist location with some of California's top beaches, the historic Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and a lively downtown.  With dorm, cafeteria and training facilities all within a very short walking distance, UC Santa Cruz is a perfect training environment for this elite week of camp.
