The Slugs came out of the blocks on fire and converted on their very first attacking move of the game as a ball was slipped in for CJ Villalobos (SO, London, England) on the right hand side. John Fahey opened the scoring for the Eagles with 6 minutes left in the first half, after the Eagles had out shot the Slugs 10-0. Matt Mahowald (JR, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA) had produced several fine saves to keep the Slugs in the game, but was finally beaten as Fahey slipped in behind the Slug's defense and finished from close range.
