Women's Soccer losses scrimmage to UC Davis

SANTA CRUZ -- The Women's Soccer team lost its first home scrimmage of the season to Division II UC Davis by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. Leah Smith put the Slugs ahead 1-0 with a goal in the 65th minute. But goals by the Aggies' Amanda Medrano and Alkia Dolan in the final 10 minutes of play would give UC Davis the win. Goalie Janice Loper had a standout performance saving 10 out of 10 shots on goal in 48 minutes of play. The Slugs were playing their first match after only two days of practice.
