Women's Soccer loses Season Opener in OT, 1-0.

SANTA CRUZ-- The UCSC Women's Soccer Team lost to Whitworth College by a score of 1-0 in overtime at the Upper East Field Saturday mornin. Whitworth's Dalyce Young scored the winning goal just three minutes into the first overtime period. The Lady Slugs lost despite dominating shots-on-goal, 15-3. Their record now stands at 0-1.

"Sometimes the best team doesn't win", UCSC Coach Paul Lester said afterwards. "I thought we better and better as the game went on."

Women's Soccer's next game will be held on Monday at 9:00 am at the Lower-East Field.
