Robitaille's goal give Women's Soccer 1-0 victory over Chapman

ORANGE, CA -- The Women's Soccer team defeated Chapman University 1-0 on Sunday. Freshman Merissa Robitaille dribbled down the left side of the field scored an unassisted goal in the 84th to decide the result.

Making her first start at Goalkeeper, Freshman Kara Deyhle had 2 saves and didn't give up a goal in 90 minutes of work.

The victory ends a 26-game home unbeaten streak for Chapman, and gives UCSC a 1-0-1 record this season against a fellow western region independent. Prior to Robitaille's goal, UCSC had gone 540 minutes of cumulative game time without scoring against Chapman.

The team's record now stands at 10-5-1. The team plays its next match Monday at Whittier, and then returns home to face CSU Hayward on Sunday.
