November 7, 2002 The Women's Soccer team finished its regular season posting back to back wins against top opponents CSU Hayward and Claremont Mudd-Scripps to keep them in the hunt to earn their third postseason berth in four years. Leading goal scorer Senior Forward Bridget Baroncini broke a 1-1 tie against Hayward to give UCSC a 2-1 win. Then on Sunday, UCSC would dominate Claremont in a 3-0 win. Baroncini world start the scoring in the 32nd minute, and Freshman Courtney Frick and Senior Danielle Schlosser would each add a goal. Freshman Goalkeeper Kara Dehyle had 6 saves in the shutout. The team's record now stands at 12-5-1. On Sunday they'll discover where, if anywhere, they'll be going for the NCAA Championships. |
