Close Game for the Slugs but Pac Lu Kicks One In

SANTA CRUZ, CA -- In a great game versus Pacific Lutheran on Sunday, a winner wouldn't be decided until the last 8 minutes of the game. UCSC controlled the ball and the tempo for a majority of the game, but when Pac Lu finally got an opportunity late in the game, Amanda Gabler was able to convert a breakaway goal in the 82nd minute. Pac Lu would pack in the defense to secure a 1-0 victory over the Slugs.

The Slugs played tough and had many scoring opportunities that they were just unable to convert, taking 7 shots on goal versus the Lutes' 2. UCSC also had 8 corner kick opportunites, while Pac Lu only had 1.

The Slugs travel to San Rafael to play against Dominican University today at 4pm.
