Carpenter Receives Association of Division III Independents Women's Soccer Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, MO -- University of California-Santa Cruz senior midfielder/forward Caitlin Carpenter (Sacramento, Calif.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women's soccer Player of the Week. Carpenter scored the game-winning goal in overtime giving the Slugs a 2-1 victory over nationally ranked No. 22 University of Redlands. Carpenter headed in the game-winner off a corner kick with just 30 seconds remaining in the first overtime. The goal was the Slugs' first goal scored off a corner kick all season. Carpenter, who is coached by Michael Runeare, has three goals on the season.
