Season Preview 2005

The 2005 UCSC Women's Soccer team anticipates building on the success of last season and challenging for a top spot in the Western region. Keys to their success will be seniors Caitlin Carpenter, Lauren Philibosian, Michelle Sharman, and Kirstin Horn. Their dedication, focus, and work ethic have a set a standard that returning and new players will strive for.

Coach Runeare foresees a dynamic attacking style as a major Slug strength. The team's new formation will create plenty of scoring opportunities for the Lady Slugs. Returning goalkeeper sophomore Katie Loomis will anchor a young agile defensive unit. The squad is comprised of eleven returning players, eleven freshmen, and one transfer student.

On their schedule, the Lady Slugs will face top-ranked teams in the West. Key games are against UPS, Redlands, Chapman, Pomona, Claremont, and Hayward. GO SLUGS!
