UCSC Women's Soccer defeats CMS 3-0 in 1st Round of NCAA Playoffs


UC Santa Cruz defensive unit, ranked 2nd in the nation, came up big with another shutout keeping CMS off the board. Katie Loomis made 5 key saves in the match, including a diving effort in the first five minutes. Annick Lamb scored the initial goal of the match in the 8th minute. UCSC scored off of their first corner this season after Didi Ramirez connected with Karli Cowman to move the Slugs to 2-0. In the 83rd minute, Annick Lamb was taken down by the keeper in the box, but Danielle Mullen was there to finish the loose ball to put the game out of reach. This victory advances UC Santa Cruz to the 2nd Round of the NCAA Playoffs, which will be played on November 12th at 1pm against Webster University in St Louis.
