HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Mission Bay HS in 2006. While in high school he earned 4 varsity letters and made the All-Academic team with honors, the coaches award (2004), MVP (2005-2006), MBHS Athletic Department Award and holds the record for the 100 free at MBHS. He was also the 100 free conference champion and CIF runner up (2006).

PERSONAL: He is the son of Greg and Dona James, and has two sibilings, Emily, (22) and Courtney (22). While at UCSC he made the Dean's List (2009), and remains a 2-time all American, and 3-time record holder. During his free time he enjoys music, surfing, and skating.
