Slugs Fall To CMS in Third Round
CLAREMONT, CA--The Slugs defeated Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in March in a battle in Santa Cruz, but came up short for the third year in a row down at Claremont. UCSC went down 2-1 in doubles with Erich Koenig and Parker Larsen winning the only doubles point with an 8-5 victory at one over Robbie Erani and Alex Lane.(more) |

Revenge is Sweet
CLAREMONT, CA--The Slugs lost to Pomona Pitzer on March 31 for the first time in program history. In the second round of NCAA Regionals, UCSC was looking to avenge that loss and get into the third round for a chance to compete for a spot in the final eight at the national championship site in Cary, North Carolina. CLAREMONT, CA--The Slugs came out firing at all our doubles that morning but in the end we only grabbed a win at #2 (along with a win by Eli and Bryce at #4 exhibition). Ian and Riza lost a close match by one break of serve at #1 doubles. (more) |

IRVINE, CA--Another match of getting swept in doubles showed that this is the area we need to improve. Concordia is a tough team and though we were competitive at spots they jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead. (more) |

Slugs Defeat University of Redlands
REDLANDS, CA--Another huge bright spot for the Slugs this break was our match against one of our rivals the University of Redlands. Playing our usual doubles lineup we had wins at #2 and #3 doubles going into singles (on top of doubles wins at #4, #5, and #6). Our connection, energy, fire, and composure all showed as we came out firing in this match and never ceased. (more) |

Slugs Beat UC San Diego
San Diego, CA--The slugs came out firing in our first match of the break and played amazing stuff from start to finish beating a very tough UCSD team 6-3. With a doubles sweep to start the match (Ian Stanley/Erik Rosner, Parker Larsen/Erich Koenig, and Max Littlejohn/Devin Nerenberg) the Slugs never let up playing amazing tennis from top to bottom. SANTA CRUZ, CA--The environment was loud and exciting with fans, friends, family, and alums all cheering with fire and gusto. SANTA CRUZ, CA--The Lords came off to a quick start with wins at two and three doubles. Andre Halabi and Erich Koenig lost 8-5 at #3 battling to the end. At #2 Devin Nerenberg and Eli Scandalis played very well for most of the match, but having trouble holding serve led them to an 8-6 loss. (more) |

FRESNO, CA--The Slugs had a strong showing against Sonoma State, beating the Seawolves 7-2. Erik Rosner/Ian Stanley and Devin Nerenberg/Eli Scandalis were able to take decisive wins in the doubles, winning their matches 8-5 and 8-6 respectively. Slugs Get Second at the ITA Indoor Nationals
ST. PETER, MN--The Emory Eagles, behind commanding doubles play, claimed the 2012 ITA Division III National Men’s Team Indoor Championship title at the Swanson Tennis Center on the Campus of Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn. Emory swept through doubles play against the Kenyon Lords, winning by an overall score of 7-2. The title is the fifth in program history for the Eagles, which is the most of any team in the nation.
