Men's Tennis Heads to Southern California for Spring Break

Dear Slug fans,

Spring Break is here and the Slugs head south for a wonderful set of matches in Southern California. We will play 5 matches in three days, typical Slug adventure, against some very tough opponents. We open on Tuesday March 25th against Azusa Pacific College the top ranked NAIA school in the country. The match is scheduled for 2:30 and will be played at Citrus Community College. Directions are as follows….Go north on Citrus ave. off the 210 freeway. Pass Azusa Pacific on your right. The next right turn is into Citrus. Take a right and follow it all all the way to the end where the tennis courts are. Parking passes cost $1.50.

Next up is Div lll opponent Middlebury College who we beat in the 2005 NCAA Championship match. We will play them at Pomona Pitzer College at 10:00am on Wednesday March 26th . We will follow up this match with a 3:00pm start against Occidental College at their place. We will travel to Irvine after these matches to face another strong NAIA opponent in Concordia University which we will play at 9:30 am Thursday March 27th before heading down the road to play University of San Diego at 3:00pm the same day.

We will be housed by our wonderful Slug families, the Ortiz's, the Kamel's and the Fattahi's and get some additional help with meals from Slug Alumni and former NCAA Champions Bryan Shapiro and Thomas Oechel.

We look forward to a wonderful trip where we will be sincerely tested coming out of finals. We will be presented with a wonderful opportunity to learn a great deal, come together as a team, and take strides towards becoming a championship team in our 2008 journey.

Sincere thanks to all our great players and coaches as well as all of the great host families and friends of Slug Tennis,

Best wishes and Happy Easter from all of us in Slugville, Coach Hansen
