HIGH SCHOOL: Kyla graduated from Ann Arbor Huron HS in 2006. While in high school she was a National Merit Finalist (2005), Scholar Athlete (2002-2005) and was voted Most Improved Player (2002-2004) and Most Valuable Player (2005). Her team won the State Championship in 2004, and Kyla was a State Finalist in 2005.

COLLEGE: At UCSC, Kyla is on the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) and is a member of Active Minds, a club dedicated to raising awareness of mental disorders. In 2008, the Slugs were an ITA All-Academic Team.

PERSONAL: Kyla was born on Groundhog's Day, to Jonathan Rowe and Susan Kessler. She has one sister: Rachel, 23, whom Kyla loves more than life itself. In her free time, Kyla enjoys chasing her puppy, Butch Cassidy, around the house, playing Mah-Jongg with her mother, Skyping with her parents, and eating Krispy Kremes.
