June 14, 2011 UCSC Women's Tennis Final Ranking #21
SANTA CRUZ , CA-- The UC Santa Cruz Women's Tennis Team finished the year ranked at #21 in the nation, and #4 in the West Region. This is the highest ranking for the program since 2007, and improved five spots from the end of last season. The slugs had a great year and show a lot of potential and talent for the years to come.(more)
May 27, 2011 Mokhtari Fall to Chen in First Round
CLAREMONT , CA-- Sophomore Ariana Mokhtari lost a close match in the first round of the NCAA Individual Championships. After losing the first three games to Laura Chen, the #4 ranked player in the nation from Carnegie Mellon, Mokhtari stormed back to win six games in a row and take the first set 6-3. Chen took a close second set after stepping up her play to take the second set 6-3. (more)

May 12, 2011 Ariana Mokhtari Selected to 2011 NCAA Individual Championships
INDIANPOLIS, IL -The NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Committee selected individuals and doubles teams that will compete in the 2011 NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Championships. The individual championships shall consist of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. The selection of teams and individuals for the championships is based on won-lost record, strength of schedule and eligibility and availability of student-athletes. (more)
March 11, 2011 #24 UC Santa Cruz Falls to #6 Pomona Pitzer
CLAREMONT , CA-- In the first of three matches in southern California, UCSC started a tough weekend against #6 Pomona Pitzer. All three matches the slugs played were against teams ranked in the top 15 nationally. Because of the men’s Stag-Hen tournament, the singles matches were played first. In five out of the six matches, the slugs took the first set, but Pomona battled back and took five out of the six singles matches. (more)
