Men's Volleyball Gets Reprieve

SANTA CRUZ, CA -- The Men's Volleyball team at UC Santa Cruz has moved to the far edge of the chopping block.

On the verge of being cut after the 2006 season because of budget constraints, the program was granted a little reprieve. After the other UCSC coaches rallied around the program at a meeting last Wednesday night, school officials told men's volleyball co-coaches Jonah Carson and Selene Teitelbaum the team could continue playing through at least the 2007 season if it can raise enough money to cover all of its expenses, an estimated $20,000....
